Understanding the Benefits of Digital Humidity Sensors

There has been a huge increase in the development of compact small portable devices communicating and networking within the new Internet of Things environment. The Silicon Labs digital humidity sensors provide an ideal solution for use in applications such as compact data-loggers for goods in transit, environmental sensing nodes, nebulizers, weather stations and many others. The benefits of compact size and low power operation meet the designers' demands which was not possible with the older technology modules.

 The emerging sensing solution combines RH and temperature sensors on a single-chip CMOS IC with a digital interface. With both sensors in close proximity on the same monolithic die at the same temperature the RH reading is always more accurate than from a discrete solution. Sensors are factory calibrated negating customer calibration.
