The LBVR/A is connected directly across the battery to provide constant monitoring of the voltage. In normal operation, the output relay is energised. If the monitored voltage drops below the pre-set threshold, the relay will de-energise after the set time delay period has elapsed. The time delay allows for momentary dips in the voltage to be ignored (i.e. when starting generators) and therefore prevents nuisance tripping.
In the video below we demonstrate the monitoring of a DC voltage and triggering an alarm (beacon in this example) when the voltage drops too low.
