Planning a project that involves high speed communication in an electrically noisy environment. I'd like to be able to measure the "background" noise of an engine bay with the car running as well as the noise picked up in a cable. This data would then be compared to the electrical background noise in an empty room or lab. (Unfortunately, I don't have an EMC chamber to hand.)
