Video: groov your Modbus RTU

In this video, Opto 22 Senior Applications Engineer Kyle Orman shows you how to groov your Modbus RTU devices. You’ll need a simple protocol gateway to translate protocols, in this case Modbus serial to Modbus/TCP. The one we’ve used here is the flexibleFieldServer QuickServer.

See how you can build a mobile interface so you can securely monitor and control your system from anywhere, anytime, with groov:

In just three steps you'llhave a mobile interface you can use now:

Step 1. Import tags from PLC to OPC UA server
Step 2. Import tags to groov
Step 3. Attach tags to gadgets

Modbus/TCP

If your Modbus devices run over a standard Ethernet network, groov 2.3 or higher can communicate directly with them. No servers or other intermediary equipment needed.

groov your MicroLogix

This video shows you how to groov your Micrologix PLC using Modbus/TCP.
