Batteryless Remote Control that Really Goes the Distance

Batteryless remote control is now an affordable reality, enabling infinite switching for a whole range of domestic and industrial applications. While Energy Harvesting isn't a new concept, RF Solutions have developed a range of products that take batteryless remote control to a whole new level!

The KAPBOX and KAPTRAP systems provide a batteryless switching option that goes further than anything currently available using similar methods. Capable of a range up to 300 meters, these systems are perfect for use in applications where you simply cannot afford for your transmitter to lose power.

So how does it work?

When the user presses the switch, power is generated using patented magnet-in-coil technology that in turn creates an RF signal of +13dBm ERP (Electrically Radiated Power.) Unlike other Energy Harvesting systems which use "piezo" to generate very small signals, this system generates enough power to send full multiple packet RF signals akin to standard battery-operated systems. This makes it reliable for general purpose remote control and considerably longer range.

Both the KAPBOX and KAPTRAP systems are housed in rugged, IP68 rated enclosures making them ideally suited to industrial or outdoor environments. In addition, the KAPTRAP transmitter has a bright, rubberised boot to ensure it is easily seen and harder to damage in the workplace.
