ARE YOU LOOKING FOR TROUBLE?

Don’t Mess with the Fluke Ti450 Infrared Camera – Your Partner in Production Line Maintenance

R9224826-021_0f49fa372c6eda4de2727d55f661ee7bfa7d2dba.jpgOn many production lines the sludge and particulates that can build up put motors, bearings, windings and insulation under particular stresses and strains, which show up as heat detectable by a thermal imager. Unusually hot or cold spots or unusual thermal patterns on conveyor line equipment can indicate that a problem is building up, so thermal imaging cameras, which capture two-dimensional images showing the apparent surface temperatures of motors and drives are essential tools for regular predictive maintenance. Thermal imaging can help identify and diagnose various issues including high-resistance electrical connections that impede airflow, bearing issues on motors and a whole range of other mechanical problems.

For example, in one case often quoted by Fluke involving a major Florida brewery, scanning with a Fluke infrared camera revealed that the gearbox of a bottle labelling machine had become almost boiling hot. When inspected, it was discovered that the gearbox filled up with water instead of lubricant – the result of a damaged seal.

THE FLUKE TI450 - Advanced Features to Keep your Production Running

The advanced features on the Fluke Ti450 are ideal for fast, accurate heat measurement in a production line environment and can help prevent expensive downtime.

Firstly, engineers can record and review previous inspections quickly and easily with the camera’s Fluke Connect™ functionality. Using the EquipmentLog™ history feature it is easy to create a folder for each piece of critical equipment with a description of the asset and the location in the Fluke Cloud™ storage.

Each time you inspect a piece of equipment, you or any other team member who has been given access can then save a thermal image or measurement data to that same folder, making it easy to monitor comparative equipment temperature over time with instant access to historical data. Progressive comparison of temperate at different points in time is made easy.

It is also worthwhile investing in this high specification thermal camera because of its extraordinary levels of image accuracy.

An out-of-focus thermal image can be inaccurate by up to 20 degrees or more with no way to correct it after it has been taken, short of retaking new images. The Fluke Ti450 solves this problem by delivering in-focus images of everything in the field of view.

MultiSharp Focus rapidly takes multiple images focused near to far and combines them to produce one image with all objects in focus. This means that maintenance engineers capture an automated, in-focus image of several targets at once, delivering the image clarity needed by professional thermographers and maintenance managers to reliably identify issues, and saving them precious time.

When you need to focus quickly on one specific target, whilst other auto focus systems may focus on the surrounding landscape or closer targets, compromising focus and the ability to capture accurate temperature measurements, the high performance 320 x 240 resolution Fluke Ti450 features LaserSharp Auto Focus that uses a built-in laser distance meter to calculate and display the distance to the designated target with pinpoint accuracy.

Finally, the Ti450 has a SuperResolution mode which can increase image resolution to 640 x 480. This delivers images with four times more pixel data than normal resolution, so you can see even more detail to help accurate analysis.
