CES Day 1
Today I headed off to the Las Vegas Convention Centre to view the stands and attend the 'Trendsetters for 2018' seminar. The show is a completely overwhelming experience for a 1st -timer, it's simply gargantuan in scale and difficult to navigate. Luckily there were lots of great CES staff around to help point you in the right direction.
Just to give you an idea of the whopping great scale of the show, we rode around on golf buggies to get from hall to hall and Samsung had their own 'city' within the show!
So yesterday I told you about my favourite product at the Showstoppers LaunchIt event, which was an extraordinarily simple yet groundbreaking approach to health monitoring. Today, I'm going to tell you about the most ridiculous product I saw in the show hall. The HiMirror is a 'smart mirror' that analyses your face and identifies where you have dark circles, spots and wrinkles.......because you can't do that by looking in a normal mirror right? Apparently now we need a 'smart mirror' to actively point out our imperfections and tell us, in a percentage, how much space they take up on our face. Hilarious!! I love beauty products and I love technology but this product is not a useful marriage of the two, it's just nonsense! I couldn't help but have a good laugh at this one!
I sadly missed the Trendsetters for 2018 seminar as the queue was longer than the one outside the Apple store on a launch day, but luckily I can catch up tomorrow using the Livestream facility on the CES website www.live.ces.tech
My colleague Katie & I finished off a hard day of walking (and golf buggying) around the huge convention centre with a massage from an Adako massage seat. One huge feature of CES thus far is health and wellness, which is why it was so important for us to sample this important product ;)
Don't forget you can catch up with the conference talks and keynotes at www.live.ces.tech and can read more about these products here:
