Carlsberg - a case of lighting efficiency

All the facts at a glance:

• Project: Replacement of 600 luminaires at Carlsberg’s Logistics Center Øst in the Danish town of Høje Tåstrup with state-of-the-art LED ones (LEDVANCE Damp Proof, LEDVANCE Floodlight)
• Luminous efficacy has been almost doubled thanks to the new luminaires.
• The LED luminaires save 650,000 kWh of electricity a year. That means 50% less power consumption for lighting and an annual reduction in CO₂ emissions by 400 tons.

The Carlsberg Brewery planned to make the Logistics Center Øst in the Danish town of Høje Tåstrup sustainable and more efficient. The interior and exterior lighting was to be extensively modernized so that the work areas were better lit and resources could be used more efficiently.

Carlsberg decided in favour of LED solutions from LEDVANCE. The warehouses and outside areas were fitted with a total of 600 new LED luminaires.

The warehouses’ conventional lights with T8 fluorescent tubes were replaced with Damp Proof LED luminaires from LEDVANCE. With a lifetime of 50,000 hours (L70 / B50), the LED luminaires last many times longer than conventional ones. The same goes for the LED floodlights fitted for the outdoor areas, facades and loading ramps. Employees at the Logistics Center also benefit from the very homogeneous and bright light of the new LED floodlights.

All in all, the lighting has been significantly improved by the modernization. Power consumption for lighting has been cut by 50%, CO₂ emissions reduced by 400 tons a year, and the light quality enhanced.
