Autosave recovery ?

FOR THE LATEST IMPORTANT ADVICE ON USING AUTOSAVE IN V6, PLEASE LOOK AT THE ARTICLE AVAILABLE ON THE START PAGE. PS - IT MAY ACTUALLY NOT BE RECORDING THE FILES PROPERLY!

Hi all. (edit: to be fair... in options, the page is titled ' Recovery Assistant' )

Files xml - are they a readable recoverable DSM file?

Not always do i see RSDOC files in the DSM backup dir...

an example...

The situation:

If system crashes or becomes unresponsive etc, then ( so far and usually without noticing this hasn't happened) , a latest file is offered upon selecting the file for loading - OK, works fine - very happy with this.

This is the aspect i struggle with:

If a file is closed and not filed ( by error) then it's 'backup' is 'cleared' immediately and nothing is offered nor searchable anywhere for 'recovery' or 'backup' - this is irrespective of the 'number of days to keep backup' for as set in 'options'.

If the file is still loaded, a previous version of is listed as existing but i haven't managed in loading anything other than it's current exact form.

It seems that 'user' errors that you might hope are recoverable, like forgetting to file, actually aren't.

It seems that' system / program freezes ' or unresponsiveness can be recovered quite well.

Have i got this correct ?

What i'd like , is to:

Recover a file incorrectly filed ( eg with an error) or closed without filing by error.

Is this possible?

Perhaps there's a setting or other actions in win10/pc req'd ?

Any advice -thanks all...
