I would like to share an exciting experience with Arduino that I had as a part of a workshop held by Hackathon@HKUST supported by RS Components and Cassiopedia limited. To give you an overview about the experience, we started with introduction to Arduino and the accessories like wires, led etc. Then we moved onto our first project named “Blink” which is equivalent to “Hello World” program in software programming. The workshop facilitator explained us the program and its various methods and encouraged us to play with the program. That was really fun. The very small changes made in the software had real time effect on the hardware which was quite fascinating.
Then we moved onto the next part which was an add onto the blink program. This time we added a small potentiometer to the circuit. We were able to manipulate the blinking with the help of the small potentiometer. This was so fascinating for students doing it for the first time. All of us enjoyed the real time programming with Arduino.
We also added a buzzer to the circuit which created sound as the LED turned on. Although, the sound made by buzzer was annoying still it was fun to play with the buzzer.
We had a very fun, interesting, interactive workshop and we also learned a lot of new skills. I would personally like to get to know more about Arduino thanks to this workshop.
